First Impressions Review: Susenstone®20 pcs/set Makeup Brush Set (Amazon)

The Susenstone®20 pcs/set Makeup Brush Set is probably the cheapest brush set that you can find on Amazon. Being the curious little person that I am, I decided to pick the set up. As stated in the name, the set is supposed to contain 20 pieces and costs only $5.50!!!! That's only $0.275 per brush. You can buy like 1/8 of a candy bar with that amount.

When you order the brushes the shipping is free but it takes quite a long time. It was estimated that the brushes would take around a month to get to my house. Luckily, the brushes came early and only took 2 weeks. The brushes come individually packaged and the 2 thin eyeliner brushes come with a plastic case to protect the bristles. The coloring of the brushes are a little mismatched. The majority of the brushes are white and brown, but some of them are white and purple. However, this is to be expected since the picture on Amazon shows the 2 different colors. The set mainly consists of eye brushes with a foundation brush and a few other face brushes, that could be used for concealer, mixed in. A lot of the brushes look the same but vary a teensy tiny bit in size. All of the brushes also fall on the short size. They're smaller than average makeup brushes, but have a nice weight to them. They don't feel like cheap brushes.

When my brushes came there were only 19 of them, but 3 of them were double ended making the total brush count equal to 22. A few of the brushes also had some stray hairs, but I just trimmed them off. Before using these brushes I also washed them using my Clean and Clear Sensitive facial cleanser. I can happily report that none of the brushes shed any hairs and were in perfect condition after washing and air-drying.

While washing, some of the brush handles felt a little loose and wobbly, but that is the quality that you get for the price you pay for. When using the brushes, the flatter brushes were very nice. They picked up and deposited eyeshadow very well. The eyeliner brush, that is double ended, is quite stiff which makes it really easy to get a precise line. However, the rounder "blending/fluffy" brushes are too dense to blend out any shadow. They're too hard and fairly "poky". Again the flatter brushes and the foundation brush are nice and soft.

To recap, these brushes are absolutely great for beginners or intermediates. There is a great variety of eye brushes with a few face brushes. The set lacks in fluffy blending brushes but the overall quality of the set is fantastic. To be honest, I expected these brushes to be flimsy and to shed a lot. Instead these brushes were great and I highly recommend this to anybody who doesn't want to splurge on a set of brushes. These brushes are fantastic for the price and I give them 2 thumbs up.
